The Skill Brum is a challenging peak to climb and has a height of 7,360 meters (24,140 ft), a peak located in the Karakoram range of the Himalayas. The First expedition was led by Reinhold Messner who was a legendary mountaineer and also known for his numerous high-altitude achievements. The Skil Brum Expedition first took place in 1984 and was a joint venture between the Austrian and Pakistani governments. The first skill Brum expedition faced different challenges, like bad weather, high altitude, and difficult terrain. In Skill Brum Expedition 9 total members of the team consisted of five Austrian climbers and four Pakistani climbers, including Reinhold Messner. By facing the challenges, the team was successful in reaching the summit of Skil Brum on July 11, 1984. The team faced difficulty to climb due to the unstable snow conditions on Skill Brum Mountain, which posed a significant risk to the climbers. The Skill Brum Expedition was considered a great achievement in mountaineering and was the first successful ascent of the peak. Reinhold Messner was awarded the Karl Renner Prize for his leadership of the Skil Brum Expedition. The expedition also helped to strengthen the relationship between Austria and Pakistan and promoted cooperation in the field of mountaineering between the two countries.
