K2 also called Mount Godwin-Austen or after Mount Everest, Chhogori is the second-highest mountain in the world. The elevation of 8,611 meters (28,251 feet) K2 is located in the Karakoram range on the border between Pakistan and China. With its extreme difficulty and dangerous climbing conditions, K2 has earned the nickname "Savage Mountain." The second heights mountain K2 is particularly challenging due to its steep, icy slopes, unpredictable weather, and avalanches. In spite of being the second-highest peak in the world, Many climbers considered it to be more difficult to climb than Mount Everest. An Italian expedition is the first successful ascent of K2 in 1954. The climbers who reached the summit were Lino Lacedelli and Achille Compagnoni and the expedition was led by Ardito Desio. They reached the summit on July 31, 1954, via the most popular route for climbing K2. which is called Abruzzi Spur. It was a significant achievement at the time, Since then, many climbers have attempted to climb the mountain, but it remains one of the most challenging peaks in the world to summit.
