K2 Base Camp and Gondogoro La are two popular trekking destinations in the Karakoram mountain range of Pakistan. K2 is the second-highest peak in the world and the trek to its base camp offers stunning views of the surrounding peaks and glaciers. Gondogoro La is a high mountain pass that connects the Baltoro Glacier to the Hushe Valley and offers panoramic views of several peaks, including K2. The trek to K2 Base Camp and Gondogoro La is a challenging and adventurous journey that usually takes around 18-20 days to complete. Trekkers usually start from the village of Askole and follow the Baltoro Glacier to reach the K2 Base Camp. From there they head towards the Gondogoro La pass which involves a steep climb to an altitude of over 5,500 meters. The trek requires physical fitness, acclimatization to high altitudes, and proper gear and equipment. It is recommended to hire a licensed and experienced guide and support staff for the trek. The best time to undertake the trek is from June to September which is the summer season in the region. Overall, the K2 Base Camp and Gondogoro La trek is a rewarding and memorable experience for adventure enthusiasts and nature lovers who want to explore the rugged beauty of the Karakoram mountains.
